State-Of-The-Art Dialysis Close To
Home

Francis Medical Center dedicated an outpatient dialysis
unit for the treatment of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). This
unit - Renal Center of Trenton, LLC - was established and is
managed in partnership with Renal Ventures Management, LLC.
The Renal Center features 18 computerized hemodialysis
stations, which include recliners, personal televisions and
privacy curtains. The unit will also provide on-site training for
patients in peritoneal, or home-based dialysis as well as a transplant
referral program.
"The establishment of a renal center in Trenton is important
in addressing the growth in the number of ESRD patients, attributed
principally to the aging of the general population," said Dr.
Maniya. "Additionally, the high incidence of the disease
among fast growing segments of our population -- African-Americans,
Asians, and Hispanics -- contribute further to the growth rate of
seven percent per year, almost double the population growth rate."
The Renal Center of Trenton is open Monday through Saturaday from
6 am to 4:30 pm.
