Respiratory Diagnostic and Treatment
Services
 Our
Respiratory Therapy Department is staffed around the clock
by Registered and Certified Respiratory Therapists. They are licensed
by the State of New Jersey to provide therapeutic or diagnostic modalities
to patients as ordered by their physician.
Services are provided to individuals with chronic
breathing conditions such as emphysema, asthma, chronic Bronchitis
and other cardiopulmonary disorders.
Services also include:
- Ventilator management
- Emergency intubation assistance
- BiPAP/CPAP therapy
- Arterial blood gas procurement and analyzation
- Drug aerosol therapy
- Oxygen therapy
- Chest percussion and
- Patient education.
The department also has a Pulmonary Function
Laboratory. This lab serves to assist physicians with the diagnostic
and treatment planning of those with compromised pulmonary or breathing
function.
The Pulmonary Function Laboratory serves the outpatient community
of St. Francis Medical Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am
to 1:00pm.
