Our Neuroscience Institute's mission is to provide comprehensive
inpatient and outpatient care for all patients with
neurological disorders. We also educate the
community, patients and staff at St. Francis in the prevention,
diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. In addition
to care in Neurological Disorders, our physicians specialize in
general Neuromuscular Disorders, Muscular
Dystrophy,
Alzheimer's Disease and Stroke Care.
We focus on the care of patients with the following
neurological problems:
- Stroke
- Neuromuscular Disorders
- Epilepsy
- Seizure Disorders
- Headaches
- Dementia
- Peripheral nervous system
- Neuropsychiatric Problems

The Neuroscience department also
provides outpatient Neurophysiology Laboratory studies including:
Electroencephalography
(EEG) - test that gives important information about the health and
function of the brain
- Electromyography (EMG) - measures the electrical activity of the
muscles
- Evoked response testing- evaluates nerve pathways
- Nerve Conduction Studies - measures the speed and intensity of
electrical signals that travel along nerves and the time it takes
muscles to respond to these signals
Tests are scheduled Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm. Please
